Baby K's Heartbeat
Yesterday was my 12-week OB appointment. Tim wasn’t able to make it, so I invited my mom to go with me. The nurse brought in the Doppler, put the cold gel on my lower abdomen, and instantly we could hear the baby’s heartbeat! I didn’t know what it would sound like, but it was very clear that the heart was beating strong. The nurse and the doctor said things were just perfect and the baby’s heartbeat was 160. Many friends are guessing that we’re having a girl…can’t wait to find out! My clothes started getting tight around the 9th week or so and I felt that I was “showing” even though I know a lot of it was just being extremely bloated. Well, I feel like I finally have a bump. I’m not able to wear several pairs of my regular pants, but I can still wear a pair of my regular jeans because they sit so low. I’m definitely wearing maternity tops (or regular ones with an empire-type waist), because my regular shirts are a tad tight. Thankfully, my friend Lisa gave me what she had left of her maternity clothes after having 4 boys and several other friends have told me I can borrow theirs! Here’s a picture of me taken at 12 weeks (boy do I need a haircut!).
