Last week was my latest OB appointment and everything is looking good. Jacob's heartrate was 149 and strong and my blood pressure was great. I was given the Glucola drink since my next appointment they will be checking me for gestational diabetes. They also warned me that they will be checking my cervix...I hope that's not painful! Tim and I started taking classes last week. We are currently attending Prepared Childbirth which is a 12-hour class split into 3 evening sessions. So far we learned about pre-labor and practiced some breathing and relaxation techniques. I have to say that the relaxation cd was pretty hokey! It told me to pretend that I was entering the womb and talking to my baby and then to tell my baby that I would come visit him again soon!! Next week we will be going through the stages of labor and at the last class, we will be discussing inducing, c-section, epidurals, etc. I have also signed up for a Breastfeeding class and a Child Care class that are held in August. On Monday night, Tim and I went to the Open House at the hospital where we think I will be delivering, Baylor Hospital in Frisco. It is a beautiful hospital that just celebrated its 3rd anniversary. I think one of the greatest things they offer is a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio. I will be the only patient that my nurse has, which is pretty awesome! We are going to check out one other hospital later this week just for comparison purposes, but we are pretty sure we will stick with Baylor. We also started working on Jacob's nursery last week, which is really a fun part for me! We had his room painted Harbor Fog and the next night, Tim put together his crib (with a little help from me). Below are a few pictures taken recently. Only one more month till my first baby shower! I'm excited that Karin, Val, and Ian are all going to be able to come!

Over 25 Weeks
I have really enjoyed being out of school for the past 5 weeks! Unfortunately, I've spent quite a bit of that time in professional development classes, but it's not nearly as bad as grading papers and getting up so early! A few weeks ago, I got to see my sister and her husband when they came to visit some of his family. She is 7 weeks behind me in her pregnancy and this was the only time we were going to get to see each other pregnant. The crazy part is that she wasn't showing AT ALL!! She had told me that she had a pooch, but I certainly didn't see it. We took a picture to remember the occasion...she was 16 weeks and I was 23. I can't wait to find out if she's having a boy or a girl! We should know next Monday.
