Dust Bowl Days
Have you ever wondered what it must have been like to live during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s? Well, we are getting just a taste of that here in Texas today. We had severe storms overnight and were warned by the meteorologists that the winds would be gusting around 50 mph today. They weren't a kiddin'!! I think all of the dirt from West Texas has now entered the Dallas area. I took my Nana to her weekly hair appointment and when we left, the sun was shining, but by the time we left (only 30 minutes later), the sun was masked by dirt and visibility was greatly reduced. I couldn't see a mile down the road. The entire sky is now brown. Signs have been knocked down, street lights are out, trees have blown over...you would think we were having a tornado! My brother is driving from Abilene to OKC today and apparently, he and his friends drove through some areas where the sky was so black they could barely see the car in front of them. Here are just a few pictures to give you an idea of what it is like here (although they don't do this justice)!

Wow...that sounds like some crazy times! It was really windy in NYC this past weekend...but thankfully there wasn't much dust! :)
