News!

As of about an hour ago, Tim left his job at Bankers and accepted a new job with Halo Credit Solutions. Woohoo!! This all happened so fast. I have been talking to him and wanting him to find something else, but he still wanted to give it at least until the end of June to see if he could hit his goals. Last week he was approached by a guy that we go to church with to see if he would be interested in talking to them about some positions they had open. He agreed to meet with them to keep his options open. He also had set up a meeting yesterday with another insurance company just to get some information. He liked the insurance company, but he really liked the opportunity with Halo. He will be the Operations Manager and will actually be my aunt's boss. The guy that owns this business and several others is actually a year younger than us, which is remarkable. He's a very smart guy and a lot of ACU grads work there. Anyway, the best part (in my opinion) is that he will have a salary and will get a paycheck every two weeks. Plus, this company is growing tremendously (about to go public) and there is a lot of potential for Tim to move up as a leader of the company! He starts tomorrow, so please keep this in your prayers.

In other news, I have been more social in the past few days than I have been my entire time in Texas. It feels good to start to make friends. Saturday I was a hostess for Lisa Lee's shower. It was a lot of fun! On Sunday we went out to eat with 5 other couples and one of those couples invited us all over for dinner that night. Another one of those couples is having us all over to hang out tonight. The guys are playing Risk (Tim is so excited!) and the girls are just going to visit. Yesterday a girl from church invited me to go to lunch with her. She is a stay-at-home mom and has two adorable kids. They live within a mile from here and have just joined the country club. Since they get free lunch for two there this month, that's where we went. Wow...was it nice!! I felt very hoity-toity! We had an appetizer, entrees, and then split two desserts (creme brulee and molten lava cake)...Yummy! Anyway, we are planning to go again next week. I can't wait! I had a lot in common with her...we were there for over 3 hours.

On Friday my sister and her fiance are flying to Dallas and will be in town for over a week. This weekend is her wedding shower in Ft. Worth and then next weekend is my cousin Robin's wedding in Oklahoma City. I am looking forward to seeing friends in OKC and especially getting to stay with Carrie!

I have a special request to ask of you all. My friend's mom (who is like a mother to me), Kathy Dean, is going in on Thursday for a hip biopsy. She has been in remission from breast cancer for many years, but the doctors have discovered a lesion on her hip and there's a good chance that it might be cancer. Please pray that this is not cancer and that the doctors are able to treat her.

Did you ever wonder about the name "Halo Credit Solutions" - both in the "heavenly" connotation as well as in the video game and Tim's addiction to the game?
Congratulations!!!

Congratulations to TK! That's wonderful! I'm very happy for him (and you). :)

And I'm glad you are feeling more plugged in. Having friends you can do things with is a huge help in making a place feel more home-like.
