The past two weeks have been packed full of visitors and fun! I am sad that the holidays are now over, but I guess it wouldn't be special if it lasted all year. On Christmas Eve, Tim and I attended church with my mom and Nana, and I spent the afternoon helping my mom get the house ready for the family. This was the first year to have the family at my mom's on Christmas Eve. My brother drove in from Abilene and picked up my sister from the airport. We had delicious food and a great time opening gifts with everyone!!
We slept in on Christmas morning and then opened our stockings (i hope we're never too old for that!) and our gifts from the Kerbys. We were thrilled to find out that this year's Kerby family vacation will be at DisneyWorld in October!! Tim and I had planned to go see a movie on Christmas day, so my brother joined us in seeing The Good Shepherd. The next day the four of us (me, Tim, Joy, and Darren) drove up to Oklahoma to visit my dad, stepmom, and grandma. It was the first time Tim ever met my grandma since she did not come to our wedding. We really had a good time visiting with them!
On Friday the 29th, Matt, Val, and Ian came to visit us. I was so excited to see them!! Tim picked them up from the airport and I met all of them in Cleburne where his grandmother lives. The most exciting part of the trip was that there was a tornado warning that afternoon, so we all gathered in the hallway with blankets when the sirens went off. It was so cute to watch Ian trying to figure out what was going on. He kept saying, "I've never done this before!" I told him not to worry...that I had done it many times. It was just so weird to have one in December. The tornado did touch ground and caused quite a bit of damage in a small town just south of us. Later in the week, Val and I had a "girls night" and went to see The Nativity Story, which I highly recommend seeing. Matt, Val, and Ian stayed with us in McKinney most of their trip before heading back to Virginia yesterday.
Over the six days they were here, there were too many adorable Ian memories to count!! When asked how long his "Uncle Bud" and I would be married (we had previously told him forever), he answered, "Um, about 50 days I think." There is just nothing like the love of a child and I already miss him immensely!! Here are just a few holiday photos I have to share with you. Hope you enjoy!
