Old Friends

Aren't old friends, those who knew you at your dorkiest moments and still liked you, the best?! As I mentioned yesterday on Anne's blog, today I had lunch with a girl that I met in the seventh grade. We weren't always in the same circles at school, but we remained friends all the way through high school. It has been nearly 10 years since the two of us have seen each other and so much has changed in our lives since then (i.e., college, careers, marriage, a baby)! My mom ran into her mom last month at a wedding of a mutual friend in OKC and they discovered that we were both now living in this area. I had heard that she was down here, but had no way of reaching her until now. We met for lunch today and spent almost two hours catching up! We talked about how unfortunate it was that we never spent more time together back then because we would have been close friends, but then again hindsight is 20/20 and well, you know how it is in high school! I guess there's no time like the present to start a new friendship or renew an old one.
